River Service Day: Looking for Microplastics in the St. Johns

January 30th 2016 at Jacksonville University’s Marine Science Research Institute

River Service Saturdays are an opportunity for teens to volunteer their time while supporting the health of our local environment.

Microplastics and their environmental impacts are becoming an increasing concern in Florida waterways. For this reason, St. Johns Riverkeeper has joined the Florida Microplastic Awareness Project. We will start with a short training session to learn about microplastics and how to look for them before we will filter and analyze samples.

School service hour certificates available on site!
